Optician
Duties and responsibilities: An optician is someone who gives advice to patients on
lens type, frames and styling. The majority
of dispensing opticians work in high street outlets for large, multiple-chain
optician stores or for independent practices.
Salary: $31,410-$35,710
Education: Must complete and pass a three year class of studying
dispensing optics at a training institution approved by the GOC. There are
no specific educational requirements for an optician.
Reflection: Do you think you would like
to be one? Why? Why not?
No, I would not like to be an optician because
they get paid very little. Also it’s not a job that catches my interest.
